My Inner Critters on a Weekend Pass
I like to create art without a plan. A piece of paper that feels nice to the touch, a variety of pens or brushes that I suspect have a story to tell. I’ll turn on some ((LOUD)) tunes and see what unfolds. The blank page is my Ouji board, and I watch the “within” released onto a page. An idea or feeling without a definitive word, a “troublem", a meaningful or disturbing person or thought, something that makes me smile or worry, or just that funky bass line that inspires my mind to boogie on the page — a therapeutic and meditative outpouring without a need for understanding or enlightenment.
Line and Brush Drawings
It simply feels good to unleash the inner world (at and below the level of consciousness) and to experience a sense of relief that I have, in some measure, let go of something wanting to stretch its legs outside the confines of my mind.
These pieces were created to be shared at the small Art Salon gatherings. They were intended to be seen by this small group of muses. With the encouragement and support of the Salonistas, I am letting my critters out for an unleashed romp. Hopefully, some of it will resonate with your wordless world.
