Biography
Born in Weyburn Saskatchewan on the Canadian prairie, growing up in Prince Albert at the confluence of the North and South Saskatchewan rivers, I saw mountains for the first time from a train car window and the ocean as I stood on the deck of a ferry as my family moved across the country to the west coast. In my early twenties I made Vancouver my home, a city where I have lived ever since.

I'
I earned a BFA in Visual Arts and an Interdisciplinary MFA, have shown artworks in various cities, have artwork in the Canada Council Art Bank, in Civic and private collections. I’ve been a cultural planner, a curator and an arts researcher. I am and will always be a mother. And I am an artist who loves both the land and the sea.
Since I can remember I have had a longing to live close, really close, by the water. Perhaps this longing was first sparked by the character Morag Gunn in Margaret Laurence’s novel The Diviners a woman who writes at a desk overlooking a swift flowing river. Who can tell where these desires come from? But I do know I feel extremely privileged at this point in my life to live so close to such a vast and mysterious body of water… and to spend my time engaged with that mystery.
